Undergraduate Research Conference - BerkPURC Abstract deadline Feb. 1, 2012

Dear Student,

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the 3rd Annual

Berkeley Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference (BerkPURC). BerkPURC provides undergraduate students in psychology and psychology-related fields with an opportunity to present their research in the form of poster and oral presentations. The mission of BerkPURC is to promote sophisticated undergraduate research and provide an environment that facilitates research-oriented cooperation

and conversation among the next generation of theorists and

researchers. By providing a space in which students can build their presentation skills, make valuable contacts with graduate students and professors, and receive valuable feedback on their research, this conference helps to prepare and support students as they go beyond their undergraduate degree and pursue advanced degrees.

This year, for the first time in three years, we will be reaching out to students outside of psychology and providing those in neuroscience, linguistics, and education with an opportunity to present their research. We intend to change the name of our conference in order to reflect the fact that we are reaching out to a larger audience.

If you are an undergraduate student and have completed research in psychology, cognitive science, linguistics, or education, we would like to invite you to present your work at this year’s conference. If you have not yet completed research, but desire to join the conversation of scientific progress, you are invited to participate as a spectator. We welcome undergraduate presenters and spectators from

all universities to register and to attend the conference.

Important Deadlines:

• The conference will take place on April 28th or April 29th on the UC Berkeley campus. The final date of the conference will be confirmed

soon, so please check our website for more details:

http://www.purc-berkeley.org.

•  Abstracts are due on February 1, 2012.  However, we recommend submitting your abstracts as soon as possible as space is limited.
